Definition
A composite endpoint — usually cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack and non-fatal stroke — used in large outcome trials. SELECT showed a 20% relative reduction in MACE with semaglutide in 17,604 people with cardiovascular disease and no diabetes, which moved the drug from 'weight loss' to 'prevention'.
