Claimed effect · Gonadorelin (GnRH)

Does Gonadorelin (GnRH) help with LH and FSH release?

A
Grade A — established in humansApproval-grade · effect size: large
Short answerEstablished in humans. Approval-grade point the same way: a large effect. A single injection reliably provokes an LH and FSH response, which is the basis of its licence as a pituitary-function test. Not in dispute.

Several well-run randomised trials in people, pointing the same way. You can plan around this. It still says nothing about whether the effect is worth the side effects for you.

In context

Gonadorelin is synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone, the ten-amino-acid signal the hypothalamus sends to make the pituitary release LH and FSH. Given in pulses by pump it restores fertility in men and women whose own signal is missing; given once it is a licensed test of pituitary function. Neither is what it is mostly sold for today: clinics add it to testosterone replacement to 'keep the testes working', a use that has never been tested in a trial. It is prohibited for male athletes.

Gonadorelin (GnRH) is licensed (diagnostic / pulsatile); trt use unstudied. Legal status differs by country — see the regulation section or the jurisdiction pages.
